PixOvely is a shared photo gallery behind a QR code, for weddings, birthdays and other events: guests scan, then upload photos and videos from their phone's browser, with no app and no account. The publisher announces hosting in France, with OVHcloud in Roubaix, and writes it into its terms. Medley hosts inside the European Union, in France with OVH: there is no difference to look for there.
The difference is in the price grid, as recorded on 1 October 2026. Two plans, each paid once: Essentiel, €9.90 including tax, two months of retention and 20 GB, then Tranquilité, €29.90 including tax, one year and 100 GB. The big-screen slideshow, the photographer space and downloading by guests are reserved for the second one. A free demonstration offer exists; its limits are not stated on the pages we consulted.
Medley is in its launch phase: unlimited photos and videos, in original quality, Live slideshow included, and nothing to pay. The album is kept at least until December 31, 2026. One offer, big screen included.
What decides it, once hosting is settled
When hosting and the GDPR are announced on both sides, they stop being a reason to choose. Here is what is left, all of it readable before you pay.
What does the entry price contain?
For €9.90, PixOvely keeps the album two months, with 20 GB, two events and two galleries per event. The slideshow to project, the photographer space and downloading by guests are listed as “réservé à la formule Tranquilité”, reserved for the Tranquilité plan, at €29.90. Read the column, not the price: the column is what says what the evening you are planning will cost.
Are two months enough?
Some guests only empty their phone weeks later, and a photographer often delivers after several weeks. When the period runs out, PixOvely's terms allow it to suspend access, to delete the content “après une période de grâce raisonnable”, after a reasonable grace period that is never quantified, or to offer a paid extension; backups are your responsibility. The album is kept at least until December 31, 2026.
And the guests' words?
PixOvely's home page promises “messages” through the QR code, but no page we consulted describes a guest book, or says what becomes of those words. Our guest book takes a written note, a voice or a video, from the same QR code, and stays open for as long as the album does.
What happens when the network gives way?
A hundred guests on one mast, in a venue out in the countryside: an upload that restarts from zero at every drop is a guest who gives up. With Medley a large file goes up in resumable chunks, so a dropped connection costs one chunk to send again, never the whole video. PixOvely does not document this on the pages we consulted.
